I know you're probably wondering why I'm only writing one or two posts a week right now and all I have to say for myself is I'm either getting lazy or getting rested. It's that time of year when it does the body a little good to rest and recover from all the grind of the year. Last night I was sharing with one of my spin students that It's actually good for me to put on a little weight right now... I told him I'm trying to get a little "chunky" through the holidays! Especially this year when my scheduled Ironman race is in late August. The reason... I'll soon be burning a lot of fat and when there's no fat left to burn the body can start chewing away at muscle. Now don't get me wrong here... I'm not talking Robert DeNiro, Raging Bull type weight, I'm referring to a little "Hey, these jeans feel snug" kind of weight.
So what does this have to do with blogging?
Well, I'm giving my mind a bit of the same kind of rest... Honestly, I felt like many of my random rants were sounding the same and I needed some fresh material. So, kind of like the end of the season, I'm taking a break and finding the drive to start all over again. In otherwords, I need to fatten up my mind a bit too. I need to take in a bit more than I'm working out so I just won't eat away at the muscle... if you catch my toss.
See I'm just off...
But all this remindes me. With Triathlon you need something to look forward to, like a race or event or big ride, PR, new bike, or... OR a CAMP! Yes, a training camp. One where you can go and listen to top pros and coaches tell you how you can acheive all those other things. And I'm looking forward to one...
Last year, the third ICTN Training Camp brought out a fantastic group of athletes and triathlon enthusiats alike. It is arguably the best camp for the money. Where else can you go for a ride with an Ironman Champion like Chris Leito, get personal nutrition advice by Hammer Nutrition's Technical Advisor and Race Across America (RAAM) Hall of Famer, Steve Born or get Mountain Bike, off road triathlon racing/training tips from an Xterra World Champion like Jamie Whitmore?
NOWHERE!!! Except at the ICTN Training Camp. Along with those mentioned there are exceptional coaches and other professional athletes competing at all distances of the sport. They give away a tremendeous amount of shwag and the time and location can't be beat! Last year many who heard about it too late were disappointed they missed it but now's your chance to make it this year... So here are the details...
