Off to Wildflower
What do you get when you cross Woodstock and Triathlon? Wildflower! It's a three day camping affair out in the middle of central California and is one of the most popular races in the country. The course is grueling and known for heat and wind. I haven't raced since October of 2006 and this is a half Ironman distance race meaning 1.2 miles of swimming, 56 miles on the bike and 13.1 miles of running, Sooooooo, it'll be interesting!
I'm looking forward to showing up in about 4 hours. I'm already 2 hours behind schedule but the message is done for the weekend, notes are in... powerpoint complete... so I can go and just have a good time. My coach Brian Grasky and his wife Jill will be there along with many of the FCA-Endurance gang (who I'll be racing for) sweet friends Troy and Robin Soares, Chris Anderson and a bunch of my crazy new friends from the TRIbe Triathlon club here in the south bay. Along with those familiar and wonderful faces Courtney Cardenas and Jamie Whitmore will also be there. It'll be great to hang with them as for the past several weeks we've been just staying in touch via phone calls. If you haven't check out Jamie's blog yet to see her progress click HERE it's pretty encouraging and God is dong great things in her life.
I won't be back and around a computer for a couple of days... Lake San Antonio is pretty remote. I'm gonna try to get some overdue reading in and just reconnect with this other/alter part of my life.
Race report Sunday!

Good luck this weekend, Danimal. Your East Coast bro,
Stan
